Kleopatra Rota in two scenes from
Mikres Afrodites (1963) [a.k.a Young Aphrodites]. But really, most of the movie takes place around water, and they might as well have had her topless throughout the film, for all the coverage that tunic (or whatever it is) provides.

I forgot about this one, the first time I saw this film it was on YouTube.Zorijer wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 3:28 am For lake scenes, Superbiester/Une glace avec deux boules came to mind. Something about the more casual ones makes me happy, though in this case the characters wouldn't do this with more people around.

So I'm just curious, if anyone knows, what's the deal with the Girl and the Echo? It feels like a an old Fable or something, was it just a popular movie? I really like the story, interesting themes, spooky atmosphere. I'm talking about the 1964 one in particular. I always get frustrated when the boy chickens out and betrays her.

Re: Favourite swimming/lake scenes
I won't pretend I have any real knowledge or insight into Soviet films in general or this one in particular, other than I have seen it and like it too. I don't know about box office popularity but it was award winning, and the schoolmates of the lead actress knew about the movie and teased her about the nude scenes which had not bothered her when she was filming. As for the behaviour of our lead unheroic hero my only real thought is "Well, young boys and peer pressure..." Other people have more insights into the story, and I discovered some fairly short reading that express them far better than I could.

Thanks for the links for reading, Night457. I explored a little bit further and read the short Wiki on actress Lina Braknytė.

Apparently it was unpopular with some teachers, probably because it was popular with some boys in their classes.A scene where she is depicted swimming nude was criticized by teachers from Klaipėda who requested city officials to forbid its distribution.
