Hey Night, it's a UK guy who uploads TOTP stuff, looks like he sourced the original material. It's as good as it will get

1988 television, I suspect the original is on videotape. This time it is fairly good videotape. I think you are right.
Re: [REL] Vanessa Paradis
If this was in 1988 then it couldn't have been long after this she started filming Noce Blanche which got released in 1989.

Re: [REL] Vanessa Paradis
I think the reason "the roxy" didn't last long is because everything was done on a shoestring budget, they obviously couldn't afford to put the heating on the studio

Must have been a bit cold in the studio that day

Two 1080p upscales from VHS sources, at least one of them mentioned in this thread but the link is dead:

Re: [REL] Vanessa Paradis
That's great! About the only thing that might have been even greater would have been a video where she would have started out in the outfit from the official video, and then eventually would have taken off that sweatshirt to reveal the top from the Roxy appearance.
Re: [REL] Vanessa Paradis
Just a boring little reference post. I know that that's not why people usually visit a thread like this, and it probably won't interest many people aside from me. But since I don't speak French, listening to the song got me seriously curious what it's about. Yes, of course, it's about a taxi, but what does it say about the taxi? What's the deal with Joe, aside from being a taxi?
So I went to Wikipedia and found these informative two little paragraphs:
So I went to Wikipedia and found these informative two little paragraphs:
"Joe le taxi" is a French song about a taxi driver, Joe, who works in Paris. Joe is a pseudonym of Maria José Leão dos Santos (1955–2019), a Portuguese taxi driver and Parisian nightlife figure who fled the Estado Novo authoritarian regime to France in the 1970s due to her homosexuality.[1]
The song emphasizes the notion that Joe seems to know all there is to know about the French capital including the whereabouts of all the little bars, all of the Parisian streets, the Seine, and bridges. The song's lyrics suggest that Joe enjoys drinking rum, has a passion for Latin music and his car ("saxo jaune"). Spanish-Cuban bandleader Xavier Cugat and Peruvian exotica singer Yma Súmac are also referenced in the lyrics.

I've found this video on YouTube which was from about 5 or 6 months before her appearance on UK TV
