You can exit without losing progress. I have like a dozen stalled downloads that I've rebooted my computer several times without losing any progress. There's a persistent folder that emule saves all the partial downloads to.GlowingIron13 wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 10:17 pm So it completely stopped again and I'm scared if i exit emule I will lose another 8-15 hours.
So I won't exit. I will keep it running but, I'll just have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting when it completely stops for idk whatever reason.

Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
If the Progress bar is green and the Status says Complete then it is done downloading. "Emule/Tools/Open Incoming Folder..." will open your emule completed downloads folder. You can then play the file with your favorite video player, like VLC or MPC. If you are done sharing the video in emule, you can move it to another folder such as on an external drive.GlowingIron13 wrote: Sat Jun 21, 2025 12:41 am What do I do when the main video file is done downloading?
Green Progress bar, Status Complete.

Tools/Open Incoming Folder...

(Hey, I only used these videos as an example because they were small and would download fast...)

Ok, I got it to work. Thank you!
Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
Thank you DreamScape & citronleaf for the good advice! I guess I should have specified that it is perfectly OK to stop and restart emule later as needed. You do NOT need to be connected until everything is done. It just will not download anything while it is stopped.

(Citronleaf used Avengers, so I will use Transformers.
)
Those smiley faces are just the file sources ("User") and the connection to them. Green is connected and downloading ("Transferring"), yellow is available but not connected ("On Queue"). You can hide that information by double-clicking on the filename. That will not affect the download; it is just interesting information.
Uh... Do you mean these smiley faces?GlowingIron13 wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 10:17 pm Is it just the video file that you have to load or is it the smiley face files that have to load as well?

Reply to Night457: Yes, I mean those smiley faces.
Reply to Kacper: I am pretty sure emule only works on pc or pc laptop. Never tried it on macbook.

Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
Update on my emule. So I got it to work. I know I already said that. Just had connectivity issues for the longest time. The movie todd and stella is really good though. Probably one of my favorite movies now. haha. That's saying something because I'm am sorta picky when it comes to how the movie is made now in days. I thought it was very unique and different from how we do things in America. It was also very bold but, in a good way for most of the movie I think. I still wish todd and stella got a little more attention from their dad in the movie. I do respect hard working dads though.
Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
Supposedly amule is what should be used for Mac and Linux. https://www.amule.org/
I do not have experience with it and was hoping that someone who does would speak up...
(Those with advanced tech skills can also use a Windows emulator on Linux and use regular emule.)
Some people use an emule-equivalent on Android phones but that is REALLY beyond my own knowledge. (I can make phone calls and text, that's all.) Search eMule help for posts on that.
I am very pleased that emule is working for you!
Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
So I think it's about time for me to download emule (I may need a bit of help from time to time so I'll post here if i do)
Do I still use 60d or do I use 70a or 70b"Head over to the eMule download page (https://github.com/irwir/eMule/releases/) and download either the file eMule0.60d-Installer.exe if you're using a 32-bit computer, or eMule0.60d-Installer64.exe if you're using a 64-bit one."
