Some girls in my high school held their BOOKS in front of their chests to COVER them out of modesty.

(Because the boys were all horny pigs.)

So I had to judge the BOOKS by what they COVERed! :D

No watch the movie. You won't forget it. :alien
Yes, ghost, you should be shamed! She most definitely is FLM-age! :heart :heart

And to add to the realism; the actress, Sora Wong, REALLY does suffer from the same affliction as her character in the movie. She's not be actin' there..

But it's Jonah Wren Phillips as 'Oliver' [Ollie] that steals the show. Horribly!!

Be Warned! Be Warned:
When ghost said:

Do NOT take that warning lightly! :naughty

I've watched some of the worst, bottom of the 'Disturbing Movie Iceberg' movies out there [in other words, I've seen some real NASTY shiite {Gorenography}] and THIS movie had me cringing and pausing the video, just to catch my breath. Not so much out of it being nasty or from horror in general, but from the intensely disturbing visuals. This movie got under my skin as I started watching it knowing very little about it.
Spoiler:

There's seriously like 4 different cringey, CRINGEY scenes pretty much ALL involving Ollie.. And believe me: You'll know them when you see them.
(Just wait 'till you hear the 'clicking'.. ) :!:
I'm giving this warning for those members that are not fans of this type of horror film.

If you ARE a fan, I'm sorry but I have probably given you a challenge to be horrified by this movie and you'll likely be disappointed. I truly apologize! (Try and forget everything you've read here.. :P )

This really is one of the better films of the horror genre to hit the scene in a while. Well, WELL worth the watch; if you're up for it.. ;)

Thankfully I gave up my misguided inclinations to challenge myself. Thanks for the review and the warning.

Does it really warrant some cheesy warning to viewers? I'm sure no one is having nightmares over it.

I keep reading that about this movie and there was nothing particularly nasty about it. It's great, the visuals and everything, but it didn't stand out as one of the worst things you could see in a movie. For some reason people are overstating this a lot.

It did get to me emotionally, which hasn't happened from a movie in a long time. Definitely a new fav of mine.

There are lots of edgelord horror movies with all sorts of nastiness, but they can be shrugged off because there is never any connection to the characters. They are just another in a line of corpses. It is the movies that "get to me emotionally" that have an effect on me, because I care about what happens to the characters. If this is one of those movies, then some scenes might "bother" me. But that won't stop me from watching it.

guava98; you're a prime example of the members I was apologizing to. :bigups

Ok, you're probably right. My overbaring warnings were a bit much. I just know that the type of extreme movies I've watched a lot of are NOT appreciated by people I know and I've gotten in trouble for some recommendations I've made EVEN when I've prefaced the recommendation with "This movie has some disturbing moments and a good bit of gore". (I lent a friend my DVD of 'A Serbian Film', and when he brought the DVD back he threw it at me and said, "Dammit, kev: I can't unsee this sh*t, man. Why would you think I'd like it?" I don't know, I just thought he would... )

Sooo... Nowadays when I come across a film with some particularly disturbing elements, I like to make sure I give people the proper warning. THIS movie affected me pretty strongly as, like I said before, I started watching it knowing only that it was about a grieving mother who was fostering a couple of kids who had recently become orphaned. I had purposefully NOT read much else about it, though I had seen a bit of the trailer.

I really do hate it when people say 'This is the scariest movie ever' or 'You're going to be soo freaked out by this' or (one of the worst:) 'This is the most ORIGINAL horror film to come out in decades'... Actually, the worst is when the movie is compared to other, specific horror films, like: "Scarier than 'The Exorcist'." :wall (But at least then, 9 times outta 10, you KNOW the movie will be total, worthless shiite... ;) )

While there was nothing specifically 'nasty' about 'Bring Her Back', I DID find certain scenes intensely 'disturbing'. 'Disturbing' gets to me more than 'nasty'. Does that make sense? :think

So guava98, you're absolutely right: My warnings were over the top and cheesy.

But since I now grit my teeth and tense up when I see cantaloupe, I feel compelled to be a little over cautious... :P

Geez kev, was "A Serbian Film" just a casual recommendation or did you think to give some kind of warning for that one?

I just really talked it up. :P

At that time (some, what? 10 - 12 years ago?) I was really delving deep into extreme, low budget, underground gorenography. I had already waded through a LOT of low budget, independent movies (August Underground series, Nekromantic, Philosophy of a Knife, The Gateway Meat, Murder-Set-Pieces, Man Behind the Sun, ect. [Yes I even endured Lucifer Valentine's Vomit Doll Trilogy :naughty ]) so by then I guess I was a tad desensitized to it all and didn't think that most of the people I knew didn't even realize that type of cinema existed.

'A Serbian Film' was one of the first big budgeted, well-made movies that touched on extreme subjects. I was so fired up right after I saw it I couldn't help but tell anyone who would listen what a GREAT movie it was.

In my defense; I DID warn my friend how extreme it was, touching on taboo subjects, and that it had been banned by numerous countries.. But I guess my lavish praise on how well-acted and well-written it was and just how thought provoking I found it to be, in the end piqued his interest. So yeah; I just really talked it up..

Bring Her Back is absolutely NOTHING like any of the movies I mentioned above, it's much more mainstream but, as said before: It has it's disturbing moments..
