Re: [REL] Celia (1988)
This is one of my favorite movies I've found on here. I liked it enough to buy a physical copy. The story reminds me a lot of Stephen King's more grounded in reality stories like Stand by Me where it still has that darker edge to it, but isn't necessarily a horror movie. The movie could easily be really depressing, but I felt like they added a bit of black comedy that made the fairly sad story go down more easily. Rebecca Smart's performance really brings Celia to life, as well, she nails the sociopathic vibes that are unique to certain children, lol. It's also rare that I feel like a movie has a perfect ending, but I think this one nails the landing and ends on the perfect note.
It's a shame all the marketing I see around the movie claims it's a horror film, which it really isn't, almost at all. I'm sure it really set people up for the wrong expectations.

Really, awesome.
This movie has already become one of my favorites. The girl who played the character of Celia played so naturally and vividly that she literally cut into my heart with both her emotions and feelings, like a knife.
What more can I say... It's a great movie. *--*
The question "What will the end of the movie be?" kept flying around in my head like crazy. And the ending satisfied me.
When the movie ended, I said, "I wish I had a daughter like Celia."
