[REL] Mariken (2000)
Re: [REL] Mariken (2000)
pillowbaker, have you used both 4-o and 4-Turbo? I'm trying to decide which one is "better," if any. Just to test, I used 4-o on the French subtitles for 'Deux enfoirés à Saint-Tropez' to compare with the ones done by a different version and I thought they didn't come out too well. Could just be a case by case thing

I have not tried 4-Turbo. Do you recommend it? And did they do a better job of those subtitles?
I have been using regular chatgpt 4-o and comparing it with bing's copilot gpt-4 translations. Overall, 4-o from openai has been better, but often copilot will have some better wording or phrasing that I am grateful for.
Re: [REL] Mariken (2000)
It's more or less the only one I've used since it was much cheaper than the base GPT-4 option. I'll link the tool I use below. Right now, they have 3.5, 4-Turbo, and 4-o. I was tempted to try 4-o since it's even cheaper, but I'm just not sure if it's more "effective" overall. Might just have to try it out on more files

Yes, I use this translator too. 4o gives me very good results. I can't complain.I'll link the tool I use below.

Welcome to FLM, Mdrahmat! It is good to see interest once again in this lovely series.
Your emule links are actually the same as popdrome's here: viewtopic.php?p=93921#p93921
Pillowbaker has also posted still-working MEGA links for popdrome's files here: viewtopic.php?p=111633#p111633
Pillowbaker made a project of creating English subtitles for the series and they are posted throughout the thread with discussion.

Re: [REL] Mariken (2000)
is this a series or a movie?
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0239593/ lists this as a 1 and a half hour movie but some people in this thread is saying this is a series
Also, I'm not really big on Laurien Van den Broeck short hair
She looks cuter with long hair lol

Yes.
Re: [REL] Mariken (2000)
Okay thanks!
I haven't checked but if Pillowbaker's version is still available, I'll download this later and give it a watch
Edit: So I should ditch the movie (if it's a thing) and watch the series only?

Pillowbaker's English fan-subtitles are for popdrome's files. I am still sharing them all in my permanent eMule folder.Moonee wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 3:41 pm I haven't checked but if Pillowbaker's version is still available

Ghost's German-language version of the movie is worthwhile if you know German. I don't think the series has all that much extra footage other than the repeated credits.Edit: So I should ditch the movie (if it's a thing) and watch the series only?
