I did a quick FLM search with the IMDb link and this thread shows up

It's no longer found, right? So my guess is that somebody posted that link here and then edited it out. IIRC, the index of quick search is updated every hour, so there is some delay and until the index is updated, you can find things that no longer exist (or not find things that were posted within last hour).

The other question is, why is the IMDB link missing in the first place

Tbh, the last post in this thread before mine was over 3 years ago so I doubt that the person who posted the IMDb link would of randomly came across this thread in the past lets say 24 hours and edited out the link/deleted the post (It's obviously possible that this could of happened but I highly doubt this was the case)

Actually, after reading the thread more carefully, I have another explanation. The first post (which presumably included the IMDB link) was deleted by admin for certain reason. The search index was not updated, though, so it still contained the IMDB link. The index was updated only now that a reply was posted.

Yeah, that is because of the indexing delay I explained earlier. The result shows now.

That search uses a different index, which is updated immediately.
