I'm working on subtitling the documentary that was on the DVD. It's only about 10 minutes.
It's interesting comparing Subtitle Edit's medium and large database. Sometimes the medium gets the text better than the large db.

Here's the 7yr boy commenting on the director...
"He is patient with me when he studies the script." - medium
"And he is patient with me when he studies the copy." - large

The large db inserted a bunch of "No" x5 when people laughed. Also incorrect.

While another line, the large db is obviously correct (knowing the film and who's interviewed)
"I am part of Sandro." - medium
"I'm Sandro's brother." - large

Another example, inexperienced actor, talking about the director:
And I admire him in this, because we are good too. We are not experts. - medium
And I admire him in this, Because then, we are also good. We are experts. - large
And I admire this in him. Because then, we are also good. We are not experts. - best of both!

In fact I do prefer the medium db very often (director saying the adults faces ar not shown):
You hear the voices, you see the bodies, You gesticulate. - large
You hear the voices, you see the bodies, the gestures. - medium

So while neither are perfect - between them you can work out usually which is good and get subtitles nearly perfect. It takes a lot more work than just doing one subtitle pass.
The film might even be worth another pass with a medium / large db comparison. Or by someone fluent in Italian!

Yeah. There is a tickbox for "translate" - so I tick that. It's very good. But yeah it's not perfect. What software do you use for the translation?
But I think between the medium and large it picks up on different cues, so good to have both to compare.

In this film 3 of the characters have freckles. They come out in sunshine! So very important to be careful with the settings. I kept the smoothing effect very very low so this was not lost.

Also - I fixed the subtitles!

Fantastic! It has been so long since I actually looked at this that I did not even realize the subtitles would be an issue. I was expecting simply a visual upgrade but I am so glad that you took care of it all, thank you!

Did you watch it? It's a good film! These films set on the Mediterranean in summer are always nice.

I do not think I watched the old version. I downloaded your new version and definitely liked how it looked! I am not quite in the Mediterranean summer mood yet, perhaps out of jealousy. About a week ago I watched a Christmas movie.
