Making a dvd menu

Post by gekko »   0 likes

Hello all. I got a few .avi's I would like to put together on one dvd. I would like to know if there's any good free (or not..) programs that lets me make a startup menu for the dvd, where one can choose which clip to watch?
Did some searching, and Pinnacle was the choice of many, but if there is a free prog out there that does the job, then that's what I'm after.
TIA

The easiest program that I have found for making menus and authoring DVD's in general is TMPGENC DVD Author. It's a very intuitive program that is easy to learn and has many templates ready for you so that you can just choose and click. But it has some flexibility if you want to go a bit more advanced so that you can insert your own pictures for menu backgrounds and add your own audio and such. I would say that it is a program for novices and thus is limited in some ways but you can't beat its ease of use. You can find it at www.pegasys-inc.com.

If you want to go a bit more advanced and be able to add mulitple language tracks, subtitles, etc. try DVD-lab pro.
