I'm sure the parents will vet the prospective partners and the bride price will be like a dowry but ffs it's pretty insane especially when there's a 15/16 yo on there and the description says will make good housewife and mother

I wonder if the bride price is refunded on divorce? assuming that the bride price is paid upon marriage..... the parents want shooting for putting a price on their daughter imo

I guess it's all about $$$$ the parents will probably convince themselves that their daughters will be financially secure and have a happy life but the act of putting their daughters on a site like that does raise some questions

the bad thing is some of the girls will not get to enjoy their teenage years, they will become mothers and partners....... i.e. grow up too soon, besides it does very much put their daughters at risk, but again i'm sure the parents convince themselves that it is legal and that the law will protect them and their daughters,,,,,, damn how easy it is to convince onesself....

Is it legal? Well, the thing about the US is that the US government can't make laws regulating anything which isn't interstate in nature, and marriage falls into that category. So you actually have 50 different states setting their own varying marriage rules and ages of consent. The oddest quirk is that many states allow kids under 18 to marry only with parental consent, unless the girl is pregnant. There was a case in the news a while back where a couple took advantage of this by going to the next state over to be married (because they had such a law), only to be arrested when they returned home because she had been below the age of consent in her home state when she became pregnant. Nice try

I am surprised that people are taking this seriously. Why is it any more credible than the site whose ads at many porn websites show beautiful young girls (young for most people, not for this site, lol) wanting to have sex with them, who all happen to live in the next town over (as determined by their IP address)?

Quote one personal fact...The family of my mom was not rich...and when my mom was 13yo my grandma give for wife to unknown but rich man...he get pregnant her and at 14yo was born my sister...Then he ask divorced and he obtained the "adoption" of my sister...my mom doens't know nothing about sex before cause the sex was taboo and in the 1960 these things was common and considered legal...now i think is called...pe....you've understand.

At present i think exist this form of "marriage" only in India...
