Bastard Out of Carolina (1996) DVDRip


In post-WWII South Carolina, a young woman named Anney gives birth to an illegitimate child, nicknamed Bone. A few years later, Anney marries the seemingly decent Glen, who does not get along with Bone. Annie's miscarriage of a boy enrages her husband, who, behind his wife's back, begins to physically abuse Bone on a regular basis. After Anney discovers what her husband has been doing, she leaves Glen. But her need for a man's love eventually compels her to return to Glen, setting the stage for a heinous incident between Glen and his stepdaughter. As a result, a rift forms between mother and daughter -- that may never be healed.

I'd be willing to do that, but I'd like to offer the uncropped VHS version. Unfortunately, the only one available is Ghost's DTV version which is in German; and because German's lip sink their stuff, no suitable subs can be found.

I'll ask FLL if he'd be willing to create subs, if not, I guess I'll up it in German.

I'll look at it... I found English subs for the DVDRip and ran them with ghost's version (after synchronizing the first line since the opening is certainly different), and they don't match up very well. But that could be in big part a simple framerate difference, so I am grabbing right now the DVDRip the subs were created for so i can get a better idea how much the TVRip differs. It certainly would be nice to be able to watch the German version but understand it.

Thx FLL. I must have tried like 6 DVD and VHSRip subs on the TVRip with no luck. I even trying cutting a little off at the beginning to try to synchronize the timing.... That was a waste of time.
