You're right DB, this is a very disturbing issue. Hunger Point http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0335163/ was a rather well made film on this issue, starring Barbara Hershey, Christina Hendricks and Susan May Pratt.

I just can’t get my head round this affecting a girl of 8 though.
I know this much, if I ever have a daughter, she will not be raised by TV, I will make sure I broaden her horizons!
People say it’s not that simple, well I beg to differ having seen kids raised very well.

Certainly uncomfortable viewing but sadly, welcome to the real world. FLM is not just about Pretty in pink/Dakota Fanning/etc.
WATCH IT!.........but be prepared to have your heart broken.
