Thanks loverboy!

I've got all 3 of these movies on VHS... (I sorta hate to admit it: I guess I STILL have them due to an OCD thing...)

To be honest, these movies might be worth getting in the same vein of acquiring 'Eyes of the Amaryllis' [Martha Byrne], 'Tuck Everlasting' [the ORIGINAL 1981 version with Margaret Chamberlain], 'Anna to the Infinite Power' [Martha Byrne, again: *shiver*], 'Cauchemares' aka 'Cathy's Curse' [Randi Allen], 'Kiss Daddy Goodbye' [Nell Regan], 'The Child' [Rosalie Cole]; ALL possibly worth keeping as these have to be some of the absolute WORST young girl actresses EVER to be put on celluloid!!

Jessica Black is the child's name for this series... THREE freakin' movies and you would THINK she would learn how to act!!! lol Unfortuantly, notta chance!! And that should mean something coming from me:

Hell, I even like Elle Fanning, now!!! :eyecrazy

JUST KIDDING!! :thumbsup

Seriously, this release is appreciated as it's a walk down memory lane for me.. (It was fun trying to remember all the movies that I had picked up back when I was a 'yute', just because a young girl was the main character, only to be shocked at the low quality of acting and production values of the film...) Movies like these gave me a better respect for low budget independent films that are actually well-made and have competent actresses/actors in them...

Couldn't agree more! These movies are dire........so dire they can't even number them correctly! You have the Goldy trilogy starring Jessica Black. This is the sequel confusingly called Goldy III starring Bonnie Morgan. All is not lost however........her acting is as equally atrocious as Jessica Black's AND you get Mr 'T' :icon_1dancingban
Most of the decent/OT stuff has already been released here so you've got to expect some crap from me :) To be fair though, it IS rare & however dreadful shouldn't be forgotten.
To cheer you up even more I've got another Goldy release lined up!

Absolutely true!! And I'm SOO glad you understood the spirit of my post!

I got a little nervous last night writing it [in fact I wrote it out once, and left it onscreen as I watched some TV, then came back and deleted what I wrote and left FLM; watched the news THEN came back to the forum re-checked this release and was compelled to write what I did... :eyecrazy], worried that you would think I was panning your release: Saying that everything about the movie sucked [which it actually DOES, but, again, all the more reason to endear it to you/me! lol ], and sorta poisoning the release for other members; which was NOT my intention!

And, WOW!: In fact, [and I REALLY hate to admit THIS:] You opened my eyes!! I've seen this on the shelves in years past, noticing the difference in the sub-title ['The Magic of the Golden Bear: Goldy III' compared to 'Goldy 3: The Search for the Golden Bear'] and I just thought it was an attempt to re-market the original [lol, never even paid attention to the fact Mr. T was in it]... (Oddly enough it WAS partially written by the director of the original series [AND father of original 'Jessie'] Trevor Black.)

DAMMIT!! (I could have gotten this movie at least twice!! Now I'm off to eBay, again...) Like you said "..however dreadful shouldn't be forgotten." AND shouldn't be neglected from my collection!!

All the more reason to; Thank you, again for this release, loverboy!

It's only been 16 years since your post and you have referenced it in another thread recently, so I am compelled to ask what the heck is the difference between those two movies. IMDB has some confusing information.

Goldy 3: The Search for the Golden Bear (1988)
Supposedly stars Jessica Black, Cheech Marin, Bonnie Morgan, and Mr. T.
Bonnie Morgan born 1981 would have been 7 at the oldest.
Jessica Black as "Jesse" would have been 4 years older than she was in the first movie from 1984.
Directed by Trevor Black and John Quinn.
Synopsis:
Young Jessie loves her pet bear, Goldy. When a clever magician casts a spell so he will be able to buy Goldy and take her away, Jessie escapes deep into the forest with Goldy and hides. There she meets a "Ghostman", who believes that all animals should live in peace and freedom.
And the video posted here --
The Magic of the Golden Bear: Goldy III (1994)
Supposedly stars Cheech Marin, Mr. T., Bonnie Morgan and others.
Bonnie Morgan would have been about 13, a believable age for "Jessie".
Directed by John Quinn, cowritten by Trevor Black and others.
Synopsis:
When a sly magician casts a spell so that he can buy Goldy, the last Golden Bear, Jesse runs away with her pet. Hiding deep in the heart of the forest, the youngster meets a 'Ghostman' who believes all animals should be free. In HD.
I have found videotapes of "Goldy: The Last of the Golden Bears" (1984) and "Goldy 2: The Saga of the Golden Bear" (1986), as well as videotapes, laserdisc, and Digital Downloads of "The Magic of the Golden Bear: Goldy III" (1994), so I am pretty sure those movies actually exist! I also have streaming downloads of 2 and III. No sources available for the first movie other than the physical tapes on eBay. However, I found NO VIDEO AT ALL for Goldy 3 from 1988, just movie pages like IMDB and rarefilmfinder!! No sign of any VHS with that title or streaming video. Unless YOU have a VHS with the title "Goldy 3: The Search for the Golden Bear", I don't think the 1988 movie actually exists. It certainly would not have the same cast as the 1994 movie. The IMDB entry is either drastically wrong or complete fiction for a 1988 film.

What's going on here?
