Releasing

Post by loverboy »   0 likes

Rather than add this to my status I thought I'd make a new thread so more members view. Despite my poor speed yesterday (& yes.......eMule upload has once again now dropped off to around 8KB/s) I'm considering the release of 'I Start Counting' to be a success. Credit should be given to members with superior upload speed to me for ensuring this file is now well sourced with several complete sources. Special mention to the regular helpers.......ghost, FLL, emuler & idler.....you guys rock! :) I know there are others too, although unmentioned your help is much appreciated.
In future I will be releasing exactly the same way............temporarily unsharing everything other than the release & closing all traffic applications until other complete sources are available. This obviously means I'll 'drop off the radar' on certain files but will return. Needless to say it is hoped members can share files for as long as possible.
Not a 100% solution but with co-operation quite feasable.

Thanks Guys! :thumbsup

I have 40KB/s. Slots are automatic in eMule Plus, between 3 and 12. :wall I know 12 is a bit too many, but we make special provision for LowID clients so they don't lose their turn.

If nothing is happening I set the eMule upload speed to 50. If I am releasing or downloading I will set it to anywhere from 70 to 150 depending. I could in theory set it even higher (and do, as an occasional lark) but I don't really want to dare my ISP to throttle me. My ISP is the phone company, still in the process of rolling out fiber-optic Internet and TV service nationwide. For now I am sure they don't want any bad publicity, once they have taken as many customers as they can away from cable they will probably start enforcing limits (and raise the price). But for now it's a good deal.

100k!! I wish

I don’t know how 100k equates to kb/s (shown in eMule & WinMX), but I do know I can only upload 25 kb/bs (and that’s when im not being throttled by my ISP).

Still, Iv seen my downloads run at 200 to 300 kb/s, so I guess I cant complain about that lol

Download is never a problem for me. I regularly achieve 1000KB/s from Giganews, 600KB/s on torrents & 150KB/s on eMule, all overnight of course. Contrast this with my present upload........emuler is currently getting the whole 7KB/s........wow! :wall Welcome to rip-off Britain!
