Janey Mary tells the story of a young five year old girl in post-World War II Dublin, who is sent out by her mother onto the cold and wet streets to beg for food. In her desperate search for food she misses school and remembers that she's also going to miss her old friend Fr. Benedict, the Augustinian priest. Her search leads her to where a large crowd of people are queuing outside the Augustinian Church waiting for bread rations to be handed out. It is here, in the mad scramble for food, that little Janey Mary is trampled on and left for dead - it is her old friend Fr. Benedict who risks his own life to save hers.

I just ordered a copy of this DVD from the Janey Mary site:

http://www.janeymary.com/index.html

Cost to the US including shipping is around $18 USD..for me it is well worth
the money for a modern work-of-art..such beauty, such cinemagraphic
magic..and by God,I'm helping the lads and lasses in Ireland..especially little Kelsey,
with that "one in a million" look, that innocent beauty.

mactopolis, your post (and thus all subsequent discussion) should have been added to the existing request thread [REQ] Janey Mary (2007) (short).

Early in this website's life the admins established a system for keeping the website orderly and uncluttered and easily navigable. This involves putting things in the correct forum, tagging them properly ("[REQ]" and "[REL]"), and keeping discussions about a given movie in one thread rather than multiple ones. This system isn't perfect but has worked well for us for six years.

We cut a lot of slack here to people who don't speak English and thus don't know to follow these rules, but you clearly speak English well and there is no reason you should not be able to follow them. Please do so.

I am moving this thread to the General forum from "UK Requests". General is more or less an exception to the above rules.
