Hello fraulein.
I am going to move this thread to the "General" forum where things are a bit less strict. I should probably delete it, I don't think they fit our definition of what's allowed here.
From the sticky at the top of this forum:

(For what it's worth, Rich made that rule in direct response to a video I myself posted, less than two weeks after I signed up here almost 5 years ago.)Rich wrote:Time to tighten up this forum a bit before someone posts a video of their 10 year old niece singing and dancing to a Britney Spears song. This forum is only for posting information regarding professionally produced music videos not privately produced/created ones, use MTV as a guide if it will help to discern between the two
Those that do not fit the genre stated above have been removed, sorry for any posts deleted.

I read that. I disagree with it.
The woman who mixed these composes and produces music for a living; hardly unprofessional. It's one thing if an Avril Lavigne fan doesn't like or understand indi or experimental music, but to say it's unprofessional because it isn't recognized by corporate whores like MTV (MTV? are you fucking joking?), well that's pretty shallow.
I understand the need for a rule like that, but still, I think this is more of a different strokes for different folks kinda thing.

You miss the point I think. Your posting wasn't merely summarily deleted, it was moved to a more appropriate forum. I found the two videos humorous but even though it's beyond my meager abilities, they could have been made by many backyard amateurs. They were definitely not professionally produced, whether their creator happens to be a professional or not. That's what both Rich and FLL are using as the yardstick. Don't get bent out of shape, it's not something you need to get mad about.fraulein wrote:I read that. I disagree with it.

And welcome to FLM!
Re: Oona... ...sometimes flips out...
You are taking the MTV reference too literally, that was just the easiest way to get the basic concept across and Rich wasn't one for agonizing over linguistic nuances. If you check the rest of the board you will find lots of independent films and shorts which were made outside "corporate" structures.
Thanks for the additional information on the video author. As far as I saw nowhere in the youtube channel did it give any additional information about the artist, lack of which is why I originally classified it as "amateur" (vs. "professional") for the purposes of deciding whether it should be allowed. But upon your response, some googling of the uploader name revealed a real name which then revealed an IMDB entry as a composer, and later showed the video "oona… sometimes flips out" has actually been shown in public as part of a program on experimental video. So that puts a new twist on things. The net is making classifications increasingly difficult.
So this can go back to the MV forum. Sorry to doubt you

Many thanks, fraulein!
The whole time I was watching I kept thinking that these are what home videos of a young Björk [ http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001951/ ] might look like..
The girl [Oona?] is absolutely adorable
and I am amazed at whoever created this's editing capabilities. Thanks again for sharing these here.
kev.
