I mean that, while you maybe don't have the whole movie downloaded, the whole movie is already online. Other users have the parts of the file you're missing, and other users may be missing parts you have. That's how ED2K works.

On the Shared Files tab if you look at a file and see its progress bar is a solid color, it means 100% of the file has been shared and is online - not necessarily to one person but to the eMule network as a whole.
