1.62 MB? I couldn't find a synopsis of this movie after an hour of searching, but Alexandra Lorska was way over sell-by-date - she was born 7 Dec. 1963 so she was 24 years old when this film was released. Ldieguez_, do you know anything about this movie?Ldieguez_ wrote:Like this post to see ed2k links [1.62 MiB]

Phuzzy, the original REQ was for clips and that's just what LD provided (probably all that's available). I don't think the request was for Alexabdra Lorska herself, that was just identifying the movie.
I assume ghost left this REQ here because the English title "Children and the White Whale" makes it postentially interesting.

I found lots of stuff about White Whales (especially Moby Dick lol) and the original books were by Xavier Roy, but didn't find much more than cast and crew and no plot synopsis at all. I didn't find anything at RFF, CIC, Star Galaxy, LMA, or CVMC so I wonder if the film is even FLM material, or if it's so rare nobody has ever seen it.

The only other thing I've found out about this film is that it's about a 14-year old boy who "interacts" with an older woman. May be on-topic but other than some megaupload links (which obviously don't work now), I didn't find any sources.

Well there is this but it is english dubbed and played on N.B.C so its obviously heavily edited. I am trying to locate a french (or at least non US) version hopefully.
Decent info on wiki..
The White Whale (after Jacques Lanzmann), 2 episodes, broadcast on 26/11/1987 and 03/12/1987 on TF1.
(Side rant) You know.. these TV stations could make a killing if they just digitized old stuff and let ppl pay like a single USD to pull it down. Episodes from obscure shows etc not the ultra popular stuff where they reap it in off of box sets.

The clip is spot-on and the show looks very much like the Lampaul series. I'd like to watch it if anyone finds it. Thanks for pointing this clip out, johndoe.
In 1983, six children and three adults create the association:
The White Whale. It is defined as a group of education by the sea and travel. She organized for youth 12 to 15 years of maritime expeditions along the course in the spirit of the great navigators of the eighteenth century. The idea is to allow young travelers to explore their world and witness. Very quickly, the first transatlantic crossings with crews of children lead the boats to the Silver Banks, a coral reef sanctuary for humpback whales off the coast of the Dominican Republic. Swimming with whales, sperm whales and dolphins, these children realize the dream of thousands of others. Other expeditions succeed with, each time, a dozen new children that leave time for a parent-teacher school year, to live an additional exceptional collective adventure of the traditional school system. If since the creation of the association's founding idea persists, the arrival of a new team in the early 1990s, allowed the White Whale to grow and be structured around a real educational project. Significant changes since the establishment at least two adults per boat accompany children in their encounters and discoveries. They are professionals of the sea and helped children of scientists, journalists, writers, artists, specialists and diving cetaceans. Discovering marine mammals, coupled with the desire to reach out to children in other countries. These meetings with the children now eat reporting marine-reporters.
