I've done the Topaz upscale on this using a DVD I bought 15 years ago!! 1080p (was 720p). But came out amazing quality - sharp video, high levels of noise and grain - the stuff Topaz works wonders with! Will try and drop it into eMule.
A favour though please!! Would one of our german speaking Friends (Ghost maybe?!) on here care to type out the dialogue into german or english with rough timings? ie. 3m20 sss 3m25 sadasd and I'll do the rest - ie. proper 10th of a second timing. I've done subtitle timing before so I know what I'm doing. Would love to know what they're saying! Thanks in advance!

Actually - turns out I Topaz'd this film to 1080p. I've found the "Artemis Medium" does the best job of enhancing most DVD's. Applied a slight grain back to the film. Click the images to view the full size 1920x1080p screenshots. The bottom left corner shows the VOB from the DVD. The film seems to have an approx 1.6:1 ratio - hence why the encode is about 1700x1080p. I made sure not to crop any of the film.
For some reason (possibly the sharpness of the DVD) this film came out really well in Topaz - hence why I went for 1080p instead of 720p.

What's amusing is I tried enhancing a terrible VHS rip of "Peppermint Soda" - spent days on that experiemting with settings - only to come here and find that Ghost had found a gorgeous 1080p print!!!

This film isn't that dialogue heavy it seems, so the subtitling might not be too much work.

ok all. here's my DVD -> 1080p Topaz... in 8x300mb parts, no password. If someone can get and share on eMule - the preferred host.

The opening scene doesn't do the 1080p Topaz enhance justice... it has a funny artificial look to trees sometimes, which made me think I should have just done 720p - but the rest of the film looks really good at 1080p. Think Ghost has some better pre-processing filters. But I'm pretty happy with it over the grainy DVD. Just need translations now
