Based on a true story, Powers Boothe plays an American dam engineer in Brazil. Boothe's son (played by Charlie Boorman - son of director John Boorman) is kidnapped by a rain forest tribe, and raised as one of their own. Boothe continues to look for him and after many trials and adventures, stumbles upon him.

Blu Ray is out; BDRIPs available. Getting one from YTS/YIFY.

Cool. Always like this one for the rainforest 'scenery'.
Re: [RREL] The Emerald Forest (1985)
Meh! The time is 1 min shorter than what IMDB says it should be. Might be a sanitised version.
: Well, even if it is crap, at least it will be good quality crap.

They'd have to cut lots more than 1 minute to 'sanitize' the scenery in this film.
Re: [RREL] The Emerald Forest (1985)
This is the story of a father whose young son is abducted in the Amazon, who spends the next ten years looking for him - and finally finds him living with a tribe deep in the rain forest. It stars the gorgeous 15-year-old
Dira Paes (who turned 16 on the very last day of shooting) along with her character's cousins
Isabel Bicudo and
Patricia Prisco who look to be about the same, and a gaggle of uncredited Brazilian cuties of all ages. This is one of those productions that recruited local kids. Out of the whole bunch only Dira Paes seems to have had a career after The Emerald Forest, her debut role, and she continues making movies and TV shows to this day.
The tribe has a strict dress code: a microscopic loincloth that doesn't cover very well, several beaded necklaces, and that's it. Dira and her co-stars are topless throughout the entire movie with the exception of a handful of scenes. You'll be so distracted by the display of raw nature, you might miss the fact that there's actually a compelling plot. Oh well. You can always watch it again!
There are English subtitles for the indigenous dialogue. As with all my own releases they're set to display by default, but not hard coded. Enjoy!

Here are direct links for those who prefer that method or can't use eMule for whatever reason. All I ask is that if you're able to use eMule, please move the file to your shared folder and seed for a while. Every source helps.

For those who might want it, here's a BD Remux version with English subs:

This was actually a decent film, though 10GB is gonna be rough for a lot of people.
Raw nature... I guess you could describe it that way.

Holy macaroni, is this film really that good? I‘m reading the IMDb user reviews and (many) people are praising it in the highest form
Really fascinating the film got also released on The so-called CED video disk, a video format on vinyl

If someone’s interested in the German audio please let me know

Yeah, it's a good movie. Another good rain forest themed film (if you haven't already seen it) is

I had actually never heard of the CED format until today. Interesting tidbit goku. A video disc you play with a stylus, like an old school vinyl record. I wonder how the picture quality compares with VHS and DVD?
