Edit: I have Renamed my file within emule to try and avoid emule searches for an adult film star named Harmony. [see my post below.] Those already downloading should have no problems but may have a file name change.(?) Do not panic. If anyone has already downloaded this and still wants to share it, I suggest please changing the filename from Harmony (2015).1038p.short.mp4 to H15FS.mp4 to avoid unwanted bandwidth use. (Shared tab, right-click on file, Rename...) BUT I think this will only work if we all do it, as the hash remains the same and the old "dangerous" filename is still accessible to emule searches if anyone retains it. I can only hope that those who downloaded it thinking it something else will unshare it. AAAAGH!!! Sorry to all. Thank you and apologies for any confusion.

OH NO!! I've done it now! When I initially checked for "Harmony 2015" in an emule search, I got dozens of results that were clearly about an adult film star named Harmony, so I ignored all the results and looked (not far) for this particular short.

I did not think through the consequences of uploading yet another emule title with "Harmony" in it.

Now with just 8 likes at FLM, I have 32 requests for it on emule, and 23 bans. Unless there are some technical difficulties because I have such low bandwidth, I am thinking maybe there are a number of non-FLM members who have done an emule search and been delighted to find another adult-Harmony upload. They will be disappointed. And they will never go away ....

I should have avoided that by code-naming my file, like "H15.mp4" or "Felix Schaffert film 2015.mp4". I totally get that now.

Is there any way to fix this and keep away the wrong kind of interest from emule searchers in the future now that I have already posted it? If I change the title, reload it in emule and edit my FLM post, will that change the hash and then disrupt the emuling-in-process of those working on it? Some emule expert, please help!

The hash won't change, it's based on the file itself, not what it's named. You can rename it however you want but if anyone already has it in queue they'll download it no matter what you rename it to. The only way to - maybe - get rid of them is to unshare it for a week or two until they get tired of waiting for something to fap to and remove it from their download queue, then rename it before you share it again. You could also change one byte of it with a hex editor, probably near the end of the file, and let your eMule rehash it.

Of course, the people who already downloaded it and are still sharing will get hits from these people, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you for your advice Phuzzy! I had just recently become aware through emule searches of seemingly innocuous keywords how much fapping there is in emule. I did not think it would have an effect on my own uploads until now. Sigh, live and learn. I am just going to adopt a wait-and-see approach. If after a week I am still getting far more traffic than I expect from just FLM likes, I will do as you suggest in modifying the file to create a new hash, and post the new file to replace the old one so that future FLM downloaders will have a source that has no association with the previous fapper name. After another week I would then unshare the old file.

On the bright side, this will improve my UL:DL Ratio.
