Production and recording of this film started early 2019. Then Covid happened, and they had to postpone shooting. Very annoying and complicated if your actresses are 15 and 16 years of age. So for the most parts the girls were 15 and 16, for some parts they were already in their 17's 'cos of the "coov".

The result is actually a pretty decent depiction of what really happened to Anne Frank, but it's not a happy story.
I've watched it a few times and it made me sad. For the same reason, in these turbulent times, this hasn't been a commercial triumph. With lockdowns and cinemas being closed and all that.

This tells the story of Anne Frank from the perspective of her best friend at the time.
