The Google Translate translation is indeed incorrect. See https://jisho.org/word/%E8%83%B8%E9%A8%92%E3%81%8E. Even the 'exciting' translation seems questionable, as 'excitement' is usually positive, but the Japanese word seems to be negative.

Thank you for helping to clarify this! I thought "after school with breasts" was just too funny to be true, but Google does seem to often go for the most provocative possible translation no matter what the language. I have seen the same sort of thing for Swedish, with little kids in old movies spouting the most vulgar obscenities if Google can be believed. Would the closest meaning given the storyline be Wikipedia's "Heart-pounding After School", given that this is about young love? I can see that can be taken from "heart / feelings" and "clamor / disturb / excite". Would it be reasonable to call it "Heart-ache after school" given that you see it as a somewhat negative expression?

Thanks for pointing that out, I missed it! I changed the Romaji title (Munasawagi no hôkago) so that it does match the IMDB title and also what is given in kanji (胸さわぎの放課後). I used https://www.romajidesu.com/translator to verify they were the same because I figured it would be more accurate than Google.

If ghost had not already found the IMDB link I would have found nothing, because that is what I worked from.

Well, here is what the Japanese dictionary Koujien gives as a definition '心配・驚き・凶事の予感などのために胸がどきどきして心の穏やかでないこと 。', which I think means something like 'The state of the chest pounding and the heart's not being calm, due things like worry, surprise, or a premonition of a calamity' (the word for 'heart' used here is often not used for the physical heart). A definition in a different dictionary mentions worries and bad premonitions but not surprise (and only says that the 'heart' is not calm, but does not mention the literal pounding). Japanese-English dictionaries give definitions like 'uneasiness' and 'presentiment'. Maybe 'Uneasiness After School' would be a good translation? If you take the word literally, it means 'chest commotion'. I do not think that 'heartache' would be appropriate, since it seems the word is either used in cases where there is actual heart-pounding, or in the sort of situations that tend to have heart-pounding, but 'heartache' can mean just being upset in general. That all being said, I am not at all an expert in Japanese, so you would have to ask someone who is to get the exact nuances of the word, rather than someone who is just looking at dictionaries.
