So now connected to Donkey 1 or 2 with protocol obsufication, nada - no downloads nor uploads despite high ID. Also KAD shows as "connecting" but despite ports test passing no problem, just does not connect.

Are we shafted ?

I doubt we are shafted.

I’m connected with KAD fine, and I disconnected and reconnected to make doubly sure it works.
According to Slyke.com, we don’t need any servers at all.

and of course, for those that for whatever reason don’t want to use KAD????, then surely new servers will always keep appearing.

This thread is over a year old, so the description of problems isn't current, obviously life has gone on for eMule since then.

There are still issues with servers being taken offline, but Kad works pretty well and if you want to use a server, using a server list which has been checked for fakes helps a lot. There are server list URLs posted elsewhere at FLM

ghost will have to help you on Applejuice, it would help if you post a better description of the problem.
