eMule v.0.49c

Recently seen this version on a free soft download server. I wonder why I wasn´t prompted by eMule itself, I have ticked the option "New version of eMule found"?

My guess is that eMule only checks for a new version at startup or on a fixed schedule so their server isn't constantly overwhelmed, this version is only 2 days old and yours likely hasn't yet checked.

There *is* a 49c new version out. I will say though, be careful where you download from. Sometimes the bad guys will take advantage of a new release of a popular program to spread a trojan. The official download source is http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/ ... m=download

Dear eMule users,

in the 7th year anno eMule we are once again happy to present you a new version: eMule 0.49c. As the name indicates, this version is mostly a maintance version concentrating on fixing all the problems and bugs you reported, implementing requested improvements and of course keeping Kad updated.

Out of those many smaller changes, the most noticeable are:

* Ability to share and unshare single files instead of directories only and also support of Drag&Drop to do so easily
* Support of new security features on Windows Vista (and partially also XP) to further harden eMule against any possible exploits
* Automatic recovery of corrupt part.met files by using the backupfiles
* Kad improvements like automatic search-keyword rearranging (allowing searches like 'an eMule' and also helping to reduce load on busy nodes), avoiding fragmented UDP packets (making it more compatible to zealous firewalls) and other changes
* Improving UPnP by refreshing the mappings as well as adding Webinterface support
* And as always fixing bugs and adding other small changes
If you are using a mod then go to that mod's homepage to find out when it will be updated with the official version changes.

Thx for a reply, yes, it is possible that it prompts on start, but I haven´t closed my system since a week or more. So I´ll try it.

Yes, after a restart it prompted me to d/d newest eMule version. But after starting it on my "Downloads" panel appeared downloads from even older version. What shall I do to get downloads from the last version?
