Television movie. The young hero, the schoolboy, goes to the country, where in days of the Great Patriotic War in fight its grandfather was lost. The boy finds friends in village among contemporaries. Children decide to build a monument to the lost soldiers, by own strength, secretly. Gradually their work ceases to be secret — and fellows villager join monument building.

This movie is about patriotism and the children wanting to honor the men who fought in World War II. They work hard to overcome the obstacles unwittingly put in their way by adults who don't really understand what their goal is until the monument is almost finished. Though this movie has the obvious political overtones common to many of the movies made in that era, the soldiers deserved to be honored and the kids' dedication to their project is laudable.

No subs, but not really needed. Worth watching. Thanks, corsorace.
