The name Việt Nam (pronounced [viə̂tˀ nāːm], chữ Hán: 越南), literally "Viet South", means per Vietnamese word order "Viet of the South";[17] meanwhile, per Classical Chinese word order, "Việt Nam" ambiguously means either "South of the Viet"[17][18] or "Viet people's Southern country".[18]
Gotta go with how the inhabitants have it!
I already said what I said about the movie, so worthiness depends upon your mood.

Well ya know it is like "Germany" is Bundesrepublik Deutschland and "France" is République française and "Italy" is Repubblica Italiana and "Russia" is Российская Федерация and "China" is 中华人民共和国 (Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó). Why should they use English words for their countries? Even shorten it removing "Republic" or "Federation" (as I doubt native inhabitants bother with that, right?) and it is not quite right or in fact totally wrong in English. Whatever that site was at least tried to reflect the "correct" original country name. Of course I am sure that every language in the world routinely misnames other countries, so I can hardly blame just my fellow English speakers for doing it. And I had to go to Wikipedia for those names: the English names are what is in my head.
